A country label can be too broad
A directory can display a country name with perfect accuracy and still lack the detail needed to assess a gambling product. Rules, operator participation and product scope may depend on a smaller jurisdiction. The practical question is not simply whether a company has a website for a country. It is whether the exact product and domain have current permission for the location relevant to your decision.
Our finder therefore separates the United States from its state choice, and Canada from its province choice. The selection list is deliberately limited and includes an option for places not listed. Appearing in that list does not imply that we have verified operators or offers there.
Ontario illustrates the distinction
iGaming Ontario’s player FAQ says accounts can be opened or accessed from outside Ontario, but wagers cannot be placed on those accounts while the player is outside Ontario. That is a specific Ontario statement, not a rule to project onto all of Canada or another country. It demonstrates why account access and permission to place a wager must be kept separate.
The same official FAQ links to the regulated operator directory. Use the official directory to identify the exact site you are examining, then read the applicable operator terms. A parent company name or a familiar logo is not an exact domain check.
Selecting a place does not verify it
The location in your finder URL is a choice you made for browsing. It may be where you live, where you plan to travel or simply the market you are researching. We do not convert that choice into observed physical location, and we do not use it to bypass an operator’s controls.
Leaving the state or province blank keeps eligibility unresolved. Choosing another state or province does the same when we do not have a supported region code. You can still read editorial format matches; a country-specific promotional directory requires a different level of evidence.
A useful checking sequence
Write down the product name and exact domain before checking the regulator. Confirm which jurisdiction the register entry covers and whether it concerns the activity you want. Then check age, physical-location, account and product conditions directly in the applicable rules. Keep your personal documents out of comparison-site contact forms.
If you move or travel, revisit those conditions. A saved selection is convenient for research but cannot carry eligibility across a border. When a directory does not have enough current evidence to name eligible choices, an explicit unknown state is the appropriate result.
Editorial guidance for adults. A documented format does not establish eligibility or personal suitability. Gambling involves financial loss and harm.
